Prasat Ta Muan Shrine Annual Festival

Venue: Prasat Ta Muan, Phanom Dongrak County, Surin Province (457 km northeast of Bangkok)

The Tourism Authority of Thailand Northeastern Office Region 1 and other related organisations have set to organise two events during April. One is the Thailand Jet ski Championship (first round) held in Huai Talat Reservoir, Muang County, Buri Ram Province from 5 to 6 April, 2008. The event has attracted competitors from many countries. Interesting activities and booths selling famous products are also available.

Another event to promote tourism in the northeastern region is scheduled to be held on 12 April, which is the Thai New Year’s Eve, at a group of Khmer-style stone shrines Prasat Ta Muan in Phanom Dongrak County, Surin Province. This annual festivity helps create good relationship between the two countries and draws thousands of visitors from Thailand and Cambodia. Besides the ancient ruins, highlights are a cultural procession, folk music performances, sport competitions, OTOP products, etc.
