From 19th to 22nd April this year, Sentosa Cove will set the stage for the prestigious Boat Asia 2007. In its 15th year, this international boating exhibition looks set to launch on a record-breaking scale. Organiser Suntec Integrated Media reports an increase in the number of returning and first time exhibitors and are also expecting an increase in the number of visitors this year. Guest of Honour, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports will be gracing the event.
Boat Asia 2007 will have on display an extensive range of marine crafts and boat charter services available to consumers in the region. To date, there are 35 confirmed exhibitors for this year’s event, a 30% increase from 26 exhibitors for the same period last year. Boat Asia 2007 is a vital opportunity for boating manufacturers and distributors to effectively reach out to discerning buyers in the region right at their doorstep. The number of boats confirmed to be displayed on the water has increased by 60% to reach 36 just 2 months before the show as compared to 23 boats on display at Boat Asia 2006. Visitors will also have the chance to come up close with a wide variety of boats, including yachts of various sizes from the superyachts to the more affordable pleasure crafts, powerboats, sailing boats and also boat charters. Potential buyers have the opportunity to book a viewing of the yachts on display via “Book a Boat Viewing” system scheduled to go ‘live’ in early February 2007 on the official website, www.boat-asia.com .
Boat Asia’s growing reputation as a prestigious and highly successful event has attracted 10 first time exhibitors this year, one of which is Princess Yachts International. Princess Yachts have been established for over 40 years as one of the leading boat builders in Europe as well as the renowned market leader in both Flybridge Yachts and the stylish “V” Class sports yacht range. Princess Yachts won the award for “Best Yacht” in the 40-70ft category for the Princess 42 at the prestigious 2nd Christofle Asia Boating Awards held during the Boat Asia Exclusive Night last year. The company is currently developing a new Princess 95MY to be launched very soon, which will provide fantastic accommodation for up to 10 guests and 6 crew members.
International Sales Manager, Graham Nisbet added, “We are delighted to be furthering ourselves into the exciting Asian markets, and look forward to Boat Asia 2007 as being the first showcase event for our new distribution network in South East Asia. We have already committed ourselves heavily to producing a new Asian hub for Princess Yacht Sales in Singapore, especially with its excellent central location. I strongly feel there is huge potential in Asia at this time and in the near future. With our distributor teams in the region, we are all working together to make Princess Yachts the number one boating brand in South East Asia.”
Other than Princess Yachts, returning exhibitors include Sunseeker Asia, Luxury Yachts and Starship Yachts. Sunseeker Asia will be adding a touch of Hollywood glamour to the exhibition this year by featuring the classy Predator 108 Blue that was last seen in the recent James Bond movie - Casino Royale. Sunseeker Asia also won the Christofle Asia Boating Awards “Best Brand Presence in Asia” title at Boat Asia’s gala dinner last year.
Apart from the wide selection of boats on display, visitors will also be able to treat themselves to a variety of activities such as jet-skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, dinghy sailing and the crowning of Miss Boat Asia 2007. Boat Asia 2007 will also showcase the finest pleasures on land and at sea at the inaugural Waterfront Luxury Lifestyle Pavilion. The specially organised Waterfront Luxury Lifestyle Pavilion includes waterfront developments, spa resorts, luxury products, fine dining and entertainment to cater to a growing elite group of high net worth clients who value waterfront living and related lifestyle services.
Said Roel van Leeuwen, director of Suntec Integrated Media, "It is encouraging to see the ever-increasing prestige and stature of this event and the pivotal role it plays in contributing to the development of the boating industry in Asia. Boat Asia 2007 will not only provide an excellent environment for business networking within the international boating community but also open doors to consumers and further enhance the appeal of Waterfront Living in Singapore and the region. We warmly welcome our new exhibitors and are confident that their involvement with our event will result in a partnership that is highly beneficial to both parties in terms of business and sales."
