Sarawak Regatta

This popular event held at Kuching Waterfront is an offshoot of the Baram Regatta that was originally a contest between huge traditional war canoes. The excitement of war, reminiscent of bygone days, is rekindled as the state's expert boatmen take up their paddles to prove their prowess while jet-ski and kayak races promise to add to the face-paced action.
KL International Tattoo Show

The tattoo show aims to bring together foreign groups such as military forces to congregate harmoniously in Kuala Lumpur. The three-night event features displays of precision marching and military demonstrations for four hours every night. Lanterns of various shapes and colours bring on an air of festivity to this beautiful island. The Lantern Festival is also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, usually celebrated in the eight month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It marks the succesful rebellion against the Mongol rulers of the Yuan Dynasty in the 14th century China. Children and adults rejoice by walking around with lanterns in various colours. At nightfall, the procession of lanterns is a sight to behold.
